Live Speech Mapping is a new technology for fitting hearing aids
that produces a higher satisfaction. As you listen to live speech
from your spouse or someone you are familiar with, an advanced
computer measures and records your hearing aids' performance at your
eardrum. This system allows us to precisely set and adjust your
prescription for the best hearing possible. |

The Video Otoscopy system uses fiber optics to see deep
inside your ear canal. It allows our staff to view and record a live
color image of your ear canal and eardrum. It is used to detect
developing conditions that could require medical attention. One of
the most common hearing difficulties is caused by cerumen (ear wax)
accumulation. The video otoscope gives a clear picture of wax and
its possible effect on your hearing. |

Sound Field Testing is a special
type of evaluation we do which measures your hearing acuity in real
world situations. We do this with and without your hearing aids. We
use specially calibrated equipment and are able to duplicate many
types of listening situations, such as a noisy restaurant or a room
where there are several conversations going on at the same time. The
benefit to you is hearing aids that have been properly programmed
for noisy situations. And thereby giving you greater satisfaction. |
A sound proof room will be used to test your hearing.You will
listen through headphones while the audiologist presents pure tones
and speech to your left and right ears. You will respond by pushing
a button, and verbally by repeating a list of words. This procedure
provides our staff with a foundation of information regarding the
type, degree, configuration and symmetry of your hearing loss. |
